About Us

Consultancy Company Ltd (CCL) is an independent private limited company that was incorporated in Mauritius in 1982. Its core activity is providing MQA approved training courses and services to organisations in the public and private sectors of the Mauritian economy.

Patricia Day-Hookoomsing,
Managing Director and MQA Approved Lead Trainer

Patricia Day-Hookoomsing has been in the education and training field since first arriving in Mauritius in 1972. She holds a Joint Honours degree in Latin and French, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education, the ACCA Certified Diploma in Accounting and Finance and a Diplôme d’Etudes Approfondies en Entrepreneuriat. She is a Fellow of the UK Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM), and the Mauritius Institute of Directors (MIoD), and Honorary Fellow of the Mauritius Institute of Management (MIM).

She joined CCL in 1989 as Training Manager after 16 years as teaching English as a Foreign Language at the first French medium school in Mauritius, the Lycée La Bourdonnais. She has been Managing Director of CCL since 1997 and sole owner since 2003.

As Lead Trainer at CCL, she runs courses in administrative skills, Business English, customer care and leadership and management for supervisors. When necessary she is assisted by a team of expert freelance trainers in specialist management skills.

She is currently studying part-time for a PhD in Education at the University of Reading, on the use of English in the context of the international knowledge economy. Her other areas of research are women entrepreneurship and empowerment, and the strategic management of SMEs in emerging economies.

A former president of the Association Mauricienne des Femmes Chefs d’Entreprise (AMFCE), she is now serving as a Commissioner for the international network, Femmes Chefs d’Entreprises Mondiales (FCEM), of which the AMFCE is a long-standing member. She is also currently serving as independent director of the MCCI Business School and as non-executive director of the MIoD.
