About Us

Consultancy Company Ltd (CCL) is an independent private limited company that was incorporated in Mauritius in 1982. Its core activity is providing MQA approved training courses and services to organisations in the public and private sectors of the Mauritian economy.

Dr Patricia Day-Hookoomsing, PhD in Education

Managing Director and Lead Trainer

Dr Patricia Day-Hookoomsing has had a long and varied career in education, training and translation services since arriving in Mauritius in 1972. She is currently the owner and Managing Director of Consultancy Company Ltd (CCL), an independent private training firm. She holds a PhD in Education, University of Reading (2020), a BA Joint Honours in Latin and French, Upper Second, University of Reading (1971), a Diploma in Secretarial Studies for Bilingual Graduates, City of London Polytechnic (1971), a PGCE in English, Mauritius Institute of Education (1978), a Diplôme d’Études Professionnelles Approfondies en Entrepreneuriat, AUF Institut de la Francophonie pour l’Entrepreneuriat, and the ACCA Certified Diploma in Accounting and Finance. The subject of her doctoral thesis is The role of English in an emerging economy: the case of the ICT-BPO sector in Mauritius.

She has extensive experience in running training seminars in Business English. corporate governance and business ethics, customer service, secretarial and administrative skills, and supervisory skills, for both private sector firms and public organisations in Mauritius. She is an English/French bilingual and speaks fluently Mauritian Kreol. Her translation and editing work covers business and technical reports, legal documents, sound tracks for business videos, and advertising material for a wide range of businesses and public institutions

A Fellow of the Mauritius Institute of Directors (MIoD) since June 2010, she served as non-executive Director of the MIoD from 2012 to 2017. She is currently serving as independent Director of the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) Business School.

An active member of the Association Mauricienne des Femmes Chefs d’Entreprises (AMFCE) since 1999, she served as the AMFCE President for the period 2010-2011. In May 2012, she was appointed Commissioner for Recruitment of the worldwide business-women’s network, Femmes Chefs d’Entreprises Mondiales (FCEM), of which the AMFCE is a full member. She is also a Fellow of the UK Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM), and Honorary Fellow of the Mauritian Institute of Management (MIM). She is a member of the English-Speaking Union (Mauritius Branch) and served on the ESU Council from 2009 to 2014.
